research
With the core of our business and expertise centered round audio and acoustics, it was inevitable that at some point we would be involved in some form of audio research. So in 2007 we started to investigate how our expertise in this area, along with our wealth of experience in the multimedia industries could benefit the wider multimedia and games community as well as our business strategy.
It was through this investigation we managed to secure some funding via the government sponsored TSB (Technology Strategy Board) round of funding initiatives for the creative industries. This funding allowed us to perform a feasibility study, begin to develop a prototype and devise a possible use for the proposed technology.
The funding required collaboration, so we ended up collaborating with the ISVR (Institute of Sound & Vibration) at Southampton University, a transducer manufacturer and a game developer, all of wish we would like to thank for their invaluable time and expertise.
The core concept revolved around the interactive use of audio in 3 Dimensions for the multimedia industries and was (is) a great success. At present we are still collaborating, building the concept and also securing additional funding from both private and public bodies.
If you would like to hear more, get involved or require some help realizing your audio R&D project, then please contact us.
